CQO9
Presently I am in Rochester, NY, USA at the Ninth Rochester Conference on Coherence and Quantum Optics.
The interesting part: This conference happens only every 6 (!) years. So the first conference was 48 years ago!! I have been at a number of them and 6 years mean that you see big progress happening from conference to conference. For example, the first conference was held before the invention of the laser which completely changed the field.
Does anyone know a conference which takes place regularly at even larger cycles?

Realism or Locality or both?
The Message of Bell's theorem is that quantum memchanics is a statement about possible world views. There is a conflict between the predictions of Local Realism and Quantum Mechanics. As quantum mechanics is confirmed be experiment the conclusion is:
Local Realism is wrong
Therefore the following three positions are logically possible:
Locality is wrong.
Realism is wrong.
Locality and Realism are both wrong
If only (1) is true, realism would be saved, the world is somewhat strange, but not too much
If only (2) is true we have a significantly stranger world
If all 3 are true the world is VERY strange
Which one would you prefer?
